Communication man of the year 2010, Alex Sheerazi!
We have a winner!
Our client and Communications Director of the Noord/Zuidlijn Alex Sheerazi, has been awarded Netherlands Communications Man of the Year for 2010. Quite an achievement, considering the Noord/Zuidlijn hasn't been the most popular of infrastructural projects. Together with Alex and TPD, we launched a campaign for the new Amsterdam metro line in which the construction workers themselves do the communicating. Instead of the usual tie-wearing government project spokesperson.
And not just communicating the progress of the project itself. To help the affected shop owners along the construction route, the NZ/line builders launched an ad campaign of their own. Enticing shoppers from other (unaffected) areas to spend their money in the 'Scheldebuurt' (Schelde neighbourhood). Starring on outdoor posters and in local newspaper ads, as well as walking the cities more affluent shopping streets wearing sandwich boards and handing out flyers...
